On Thursday 11th December in Liverpool, Gardner Systems, in conjunction with IBM and NetApp, are hosting a Public Sector client event focused on “cost and carbon reduction”. The basis for the event is an end to end IBM solution bundle titled CXNIG (Cobra, system X, N series, IGF, Gardner carbon cash back).
The agenda for the day should be of interest to any business manager in IT, facilities or finance who wants to reduce space and power costs in their server room or data centre and reduce their carbon footprint. The agenda focuses on an integrated suite of solutions delivering cost reduction in three areas: cost to purchase, cost to run and cost to the environment.

10.00 - Paul Stringfellow - Cobra consultancy offering from IBM. Providing a high level analysis of your current server performance and power status. The Cobra report details the potential power, cooling and space savings by consolidating the existing server estate. One recent Cobra report demonstrated a 75% reduction in power and space savings.
10.20. - David Ridley – IBM System X demonstration. Focusing on the 5 main features that differentiate IBM X from HP or Dell. A System X model 3850 server will be reviewed in terms of competitive features and the business benefits that the customer would benefit from – particularly in a VM Ware environment where the IBM X server 3850 performance has been reviewed as “phenomenal”.
11.00. - Mid morning coffee break.
11.20. - Clive Swain- Introduction to IBM N series. Focusing on the 5 main features that differentiate IBM N series from HP and EMC. A comprehensive demonstration will highlight the competitive features and the business benefits of N series including the ability to reduce data storage overhead by 90%.
12.00. - Paul White - IGF – finance solutions from IBM that are designed to keep cash inside a business. IBM leasing recycles 99% of all of its IT assets – only 0.78% goes to landfill.
12.20. - Gary Kinzett - Gardner carbon cash-back. A unique environmental offering effectively putting 3% back on the bottom line to be used explicitly for environmental or social responsibility projects.
12.50. - Lunch.
